  　さて、あしたでいまのネット通信環境とはさよならです。というか、あしたは午前０時になったあと、いつ通信停止になるか不明なので、きょうが実質的な最終日になりそう。
  　ということで、事実上あしたから、スマホベースのテザリングになります。なので、街中であれば、フリーWiFiのお世話になることなく、１時間でぷっつり切れたあと（１０分待って？）つなぎなおす必要もなく、ドア自宅外でネット通信をすることができます。
  　ただ、（電話がつながる所なら）どこでもできるといっても、ピンポイントで受信状態が変わるので、すこしでも安定したより高速な場所となると、おのずと限定されますね。
  　それから、スマホはもちろんPCあるいはタブレットについても、それぞれのバッテリー・チェックをけっこう頻繁にすることになります。それから、これまで休んでいた２つの大容量外部バッテリーも、ふたたび活躍することになりそうです。このバッテリーたち、ちょっとかさばるのが玉にキズだな。でも、大容量は書かせないので、しょーがないね＾＾；

  きょうは２月２６日日曜日。すっごくいい天気だな。きのう満タンにしたし、ちょっとドライブしようかな。でも、あすから木曜日にかけて、はるばるあの場所まで“観覧”まで出かける予定。なのできょうは、いつもの散歩コースまでにしておこうかな。

  きょうは２月２５日土曜日。いま、シーサイドパークから、テザリング状態の確認中。ちょっと重いけれど、かろうじてOKかな。

  それにしてもここのパーキング、お天気のいい土曜日なこともあって、満車に近い状態。
  ここといい、リバーサイド・パーキングといい、停車位置をちょっと変えるだけで、通信速度がぜんぜん違う。これほどピンポイントに差があるとは思いもしなかった。
  やはり郊外になればなるほど、速度は落ちるもよう。5Gはもちろん4Gでもない、鈍足なLTE環境が増えるから…だな。
  ちなみに、あのパーキングは、200台くらい停められる広い駐車場だけど、こないだの不良な受信状態は、単純に位置の問題だったもよう。
  やはり、電波の受信状態といったことは、実際に原場で試してみないとわからないものですね。

  きょうは２月２２日水曜日。きょうはすべてがふつーの平日だな。

  　ところで、きのうもリバーサイド・パーキングでテザリングを試したら、受信状況が非常にわるかった。受信が頻繁に、わずか数秒で途切れてしまいます。ロケーションの問題か、スマホアプリ「FM聴(てい)」の問題か、あるいはパッド８か、それともそれ以外の問題か（もしくは、これらいくつかの重複か）、そのときは原因がわかりませんでした。とにかく、そのうちに聴こえなくなるので、何度も何度もFM聴を再起ちあげすることになりました。
  　で、家に帰ってネットラジオを聴いてみたら、途切れることなくスムーズに聴こえるので、きのう停めた場所がわるかったのかな。パーキングの端っこの竹やぶの繁っている隣りだったからかもしれない。おとといみたいに、見通しのいい開けた場所でやってみる必要がありそうだですね。じゃあ、さっそく試してみようか。
  　↓
  　てなわけで、いま、例のリバーサイド・パーキングで更新中。先ほども書いたように、じつは、きのうも昼下りからこのパーキングで、ネットラジオを聴いていたけれど、きのうの受信状態は非常に悪かったです。
  　数秒ごとに音声が途切れるし、そのうちにラジオ受信アプリ「FM聴(てい)」がダウンするので、リスタートを繰り返すこともがなんどもありました。
  　おととい、初めてここで聴いたときは感度良好だったのになんで？
  　ということで、きょうは、おとといとほぼ同じ場所にクルマを停めて、テザリングをはじめました。すると、全く問題なく聴けるではないですか。おとといと同じで、きょうは極めて良好です。
  　このことから、きのうは、パーキングの端っこの竹やぶのすぐそばに停めていたから、受信状態が悪かったことが判明しました。
  　そこは背の高い女竹(めだけ)がびっしり生い茂っていて、どうやらそれが電波を遮ってあたか、あるいは、干渉作用を起こしていたようです。
  　となると、電話がつながる所はどこでも問題なくテザリングできるかというと、そうでもないようですね。
  　そこらあたりの事情は実際のところどうなのか、本格的な運用を開始する来月から、じっくり確認してゆきたいと思います。

  　そうそう、自宅外でのテザリングでは、良好な送受信環境のほかに、もうひとつ大きな留意点がありますね。それは、ベースとなるスマホと、これにつなぐPCやタブレットなど、それぞれのバッテリー管理の問題。
  　きょうのWiFi運用では、スマホは１００分で１０%減少したので、おととい確認した１０分で１%の減少は正しいとみてよさそう。で、これにつなくパッド８の消費状態は２時間で５３%も減少。１時間あたり２６.５%もダウンするのはかなり厳しいな…。
  　USB有線接続はまだ試してないけど、このほうがバッテリのもちはいいらしい。それはテザリング機器になるスマホだけの話かな？　いずえにしても、どれくらい違うかそのうち試してみる必要がありますね、そのうち＾＾

  きょうは２月２０日月曜日。朝からいいお天気。でも寒いね。きのうはもっと寒かったかな。

  　ところで、きのうは、ネットバンキング先のメルアド変更でちょっと手間どっちゃって、今朝仕切り直し。PC環境はMacのあえて旧いバージョンを使っていることもあって、ブラウザをより新しめなものに切り替えても、イマイチうまくいきません。
  　ムリするとバンクサイドからシャットアウトされそうなので、本日スマホで仕切り直し。ログイン操作がちょっと面倒だけど、無事変更終了。
  　ネットバンキングとネットショッピングはお金を動かすので、ワンタイムパスワードや生体認証やトークン（ログイン時の小型機器）など、いろんなセキュリティ対策があって安心な反面、取引画面にはいるまでがひと苦労ですね。
  　メルアドひとつ変更するのも、１０年前とは大違いの煩雑さ。いやあまいったまいった〜の世界でした＾＾；　あ、まだ残ってるな…。
  　↓
  　完了した〜＾＾　なんてメンドクサイ世の中になったんだ。でも、ネット経由で安全に取引するためには、ショーガナイことなんだろうな。
  　量子コンピュータが実用化したら、固定的なパスワードは一瞬で破られるだろうけど、二重のワンタイムパスワードや虹彩and/or指紋による生体認証、あるいはこれらをすべて網羅したセキュリティ網を巡らせれば、量子コンピュータも怖くないって感じ…になるかのかな＾＾？
  　でも個人的には、「生体認証」については生理的に“嫌な感じ”をもってしまうね。できるならこれとは無縁でいたいな。
  　ま、いずれにしても、目的のページにたどり着くのが大変ではあるますね＾＾；
  　↓
  　ただいま河川敷パーキングにて、テザリングにより、「FMわっぴー」の夕方の生放送「Swing Beat Jam」を聴取中。安定した受信環境。
  　フリーWiFi より受信品質はいい。電話ができる所なら、どこででも聴けます（ただし、現状、2026年3月末で消滅する3G(FOMA)のみの通信地域では使えないもよう）。
  　このサービス（あえて具体名は出していません。あしからず^^;）はデータ容量無制限ではないけれど、ネットラジオの場合、１時間５０MBいかないくらい(43.5MB/hのよう）なので、当初の予想どおり問題ないって感じかな。
  　となると、スマホ本体の１時間当たりのバッテリー消費量がどれくらいか。いまいちばん気になるのはこれだなあ（笑）
  　もちろん、インターネットに関するすべてができます（高品位通信提供サービスに特段の制限がないかぎりは）。現にこの記事も、ネットラジオを聴きながら書いています。さて、結果はまたあとで。
  　↓
  　１時間ちょっと使ってみてわかったのは、自分のテザリング環境の場合、ネットラジオ聴取とブログ（テキスト・メイン）の更新では、１時間で６％のダウン。なので、この場合は１０分あたり１％減る勘定。
  　もちろん、その場所の通信環境やネットの利用状況、バッテリーの残容量の状態で多少の違いは出るでしょうが、目安としてはこんなところなかな。
  　あと、このサービスでは、制限容量を超過したら通信速度制限が１Mbpsに下がるけれども、この通信速度でなにができるか調べたところ、高画質の動画や画像の多いネットショッピングは難しそう。
  　でも、メールの送受信や音楽聴取、ブログの更新ていどなら、ストレスなくできそうな感じ。あと、自分ややらないけれども、低画質込みのSNS通信や中低画質の動画閲覧もいちおうできるみたい。
  　であれば、自分の場合、わざわざ最大GBまで盛る必要はなかったことになるなあ＾＾；　じゃあ、月末が近づいたら、基本容量(速度は下り約 80Mbps、上り約12Mbps程度らしい)、プラス、制限超過後は1Mbpsの鈍速運用に切り替えてみて、来月いっぱいこれで運用しているのもいいかもしれない。
  　途中で「やっぱストレス大きいな」となったら、いつでも最大容量に盛れるし、替えたその瞬間からその月の料金は高い方の料金に変わるので、それはそれで分りやすい。
  　なお、このサービスでは、通信容量の翌月持ち越しはないので、毎月の終り近くに、翌月の運用情況を予測して、基本容量か大盛りかを選択するカタチになりそうな気配だな（＾＾；
  　ただ、自分のみたいに、ネットラジオ聴取とテキストベースなブログ更新なら、1Mbpsの鈍速でもストレスなく楽しめそうな“印象”だな。ま、実際はどうなのか、３か月後にははっきりしているでしょう。
  　あと、基本容量で、月間の通信料金を３千円ていどの格安路線で行くとすれば、（そもそも高画質なネット動画は観ないけれども、商品画像など情報量の多い）ネットショッピングは月の前半に済ませた方がいい、ということになりそうだな。
  　このことも含めて、３か月後には、「基本容量＋各月下旬は鈍足通信の可能性＝格安通信費」の路線で（ずーっと）いけるのか、やはり今月みたいに、（必要最低限のオプション入れて）５千円ちょっとになるのか、わかることでしょう（＾＾）

  きょうは２月１５日水曜日。きのうは、外に出たついでに、自分用のチョコを買いました。バレンタインデーだったので＾＾　商品名は伏せますが、カカオ９５%の苦いヤツ＾＾；　チョコレートって甘い印象がしみついているけれど、それは砂糖をたっぷり入れているから。やはり、糖分が気になるお年頃なので、試しにこれを食べてみたら、確かに苦い。舌の中で“甘み”を探したけれど、全然見つからない。でもマズイかというと、そんなこともない。マイルドな苦みだな…。原材料としては、カカオマスのほかに、ココアパウダー、砂糖、ココアバター。そして、乳化剤と香料が含まれている。いちおう砂糖もあるんだね。カカオマスは国内製造または外国製造となっている。外国ってどこ？　中国だったらイヤだな。チョコは黒くて小さな板状で１２個の個包装になっている。買ったお店での売価は税込２１８円。苦いので、くり返し食べたいとは思わないけれど、舌が馴れてくると、一日に３〜４個くらいは食べそう。この濃くのある苦み、なんだかエスプレッソ・コーヒーを連想するな…。板状に固めたエスプレッソ（笑）

  　きょうはマクドでノマドしたけど、マクドのフリーWiFiではなく、自分のスマホベースのテザリングを試してみたところ、マッケアはもちろんパッド８も使えるし、しかもストレスを感じない。ネックなのは、WiFi運用のときのバッテリの“持ち”だけですね。たしかにスイスイ減っていく感じ…。
  　でも自分の場合、複数機器を同時にネット回線につなぐ必要はないので、ノートPCについてはUSB接続でもいいかな。タブレットのパッド８やパッド７は、WiFiかBluetoothじゃないとだめだな…たしか…。
  　そうそう、パッド７はこれまでのWiFi環境ではなぜか使えなかったけれど、テザリングのWiFiだとつなげるようになったので、ちょっと嬉しい感じ。でもまあ、パッド７をネットに繋いて使うことはまずないけれど＾＾；
  　さてそういうことで、３台のノートPC、マクブックン（生活全般とブログ更新に加え、翻訳業務とサイマルラジオ聴取用^^）、マッケア（シゴト全般とワードゲーム^^）、マッケア２（マッケアの予備機で、創作と出版業務そして作曲用）だけでなく、２０インチモニタ付きのでストップ、アイマックン（もっぱら出版業務と作曲仕上げ用）も含めて、PCはキホン、USBの有線接続でいくことにして、それができない３個のタブレット、つまり、パッド８（主に創作用）、パッド８II（パッド８の予備機で、いまは世界のネットラジオ聴取用）、パッド７（今のところは、朝の目覚めの着想メモ用^^）は、テザリングのWiFiでネット利用することになりますね。

  きょうは２月１３日月曜日。このところいまいちなお天気が続いています。

  　ところで、インターネットの利用環境が来月ががらっと変わることに備えて、いまは２月初めら１か月かけて、金融機関などに登録しているメルアドの変更をしたりなど、ゆっくり時間をかけて準備をしています。
  　そんななか、きのうは生まれて初めてテザリングをというものをやってみました。結果は、無線インターネットそのもの。なんら変わりないですね。 WiFiスタイルもBluetoothベースも、USB接続による有線インターネットもできるし、すでにそこにWiFi環境があればそちらを優先して、自機のWiFiはサブに回ることもできる。うーん、スマホのインターネット接続環境も進化していますねえ。びっくりびっくり（＾＾v
  　ちなみに、とあるネット記事によれば、スマホのWiFiベースでテザリングをするとバッテリーの消耗が激しく、USBによるケーブル接続が電力消費はいちばん少ないとのこと。きのうちょっとだけ試した範囲ではそれほどでもなかったので、こんどは半日くらいかけて、あれこれアクセスした結果を見てみようと思います。
  　それにしても、いまあるルータも今月いっぱいでお役御免になるな…。でも、いつまた必要にあるかわからないので、捨てずにもっていようと思います。それから、屋内配線の光回線用にレンタルしている受信機器（これもルータと言ったっけ？）は、今月末に、前もって送られてくる（はずの）回収セットに収納して返却することなっています。
  　さて来月からは、電話が通じる所なら、海で山でも、これまでもよりも安い通信料金でインターネットが利用できる環境にシフトします。たとえばドライブしながら、最北の街のラジオ放送はちろん、世界中のラジオ放送がリアルタイムで聴けることになります。
  　ん？　ドライブしながらのネットラジオ聴取は、わざわざテザリングのPC経由で聴かなくても、スマホアプリで直で聴けばハナシだな…これまでは１Gバイトのデータ制限があったので聴いてなかったけど、これからは１００GバイトまでOKなので、動画をほとんど観ない自分としては、ネットラジオの聴取なら、つけっぱなしでもデータ量的に無問題（＾＾b
  　ということで、これまでは、家の中か、せいぜいノマド先のフリーWiFiでしか聴けなかったので、ノマドワーカーとしては、劇的な環境の変化を迎えることになるわけです。気にならなくもないのは通信品質ですが、５G環境での運用をメインとしながらも４GももちろんOKなので、通信品質もノープロブレムじゃないかな…（＾＾）

  　でも、ついさきほどどうにか終わることができました。あとは、この下訳をもとに、推敲と同じ感覚で、何回かの重畳的 (superimposed)な磨きをかけてゆくことになります。仕上がるのはこの夏かな。秋までにはAmazon.com(USA)で、英語版の電子書籍として出版するしたいな…と思っています。
  　なお、自分のオリジナル文芸作品の英訳版は、これを機に順次Amazon.com(USA)から出しゆく予定。できれば、ペーパーバックに取り組みたいと思っています。さて、ほかにもいろいろクリエイティブ・ワークをやっているので、けっこうたいへん（＾＾）　さ、きょうも明日も、がんばるぞ！

  きょうは１月２０日金曜日。宅急便はこなかったなあ…。いろいろやることがあったので、“待ちぼうけ感”はないけど、きょうくるのは確実。メール便なので、待っている必要はないと言えばないけれど、たまに、郵便受けにはいらない物がメール便でくることがあって、今回の商品もひょっとしてそうかもしれないと思い、ドライブやノマドはやめて、自宅待機することにしています。
  　でも、きょうもきのうに増して快晴。外気は冷たいけれど、清冽な陽射しがあるので、日中は外に出たい気もしています。でも、きょうは、いつも以上に“決戦な金曜日”なので、ダブルで外に出られない一日になりそう。ただ、もうそろそろ、こんな“束縛”からも“解放”さるときがきたかな…って感じがしています。

  　それにしても、きょうはいつもの生活パターンを変えて、朝から出かけて、あの公園に行き、やはりピッカーン！なお天気じゃないとイマイチなことを確かめたあと、ぐるっと回って、午前中から行きつけのマクドでノマド。これがじつに捗りましたね。これまで、午前中は部屋のなかでまったりとラジオを聴きながら、仕事をしていたけれど、どうもいま一つ捗らなかった。
  　最近は、サイマルラジオの受信情態は、かつての音詰まり（配信遅延）がなくなって、極めて良好な状態にあるので、番組は録音に任せて、ノマドは朝１０時前後からお昼ちょっと過ぎまですることにしようかな。平日の朝はお客も少なくて、思った以上に静か。ノー味噌もまだ疲れていいないので、新鮮みのない自分の部屋にいるよりずっと捗ることがわかった。
  　昼になると昼食のためのお客さんが増えてきてざわつきだすし、さらに園あとは、学校を早退した？学生さんたちがわらわらとやってくることが多く、そうなると私語が飛び交うので集中できなくなるため、早々に退散。きょうもそうでした。
  　で、そのあとは、お天気もよかったのでノマド先をハシゴするのは止めて、例の公園にもう一度立ち寄ってみました。すると、ここも静かで、なかなかいい。よく行っているリバーサイドパークもいいけれど、このシーサイドパークもなかなかいい。海面いっぱいにキラキラと煌めく波頭のたゆたいが美しい時間帯はすぎていたけれど、きれいに整備された公園の静穏な佇まいが心地いい。
  　そこで、愛車の後部シートに座って、マクドで捗った仕事の続きをやってみたら、ここでもいい感じでうちこめる。うーん、ここはいい！　無料だし、時間を気にせず、隣りの話し声を聞かされることもない。これから午後はここに日参しようかな。やはり、静かな環境でないと、本当の集中（集中力の持続）はできないことが、きょうの朝のノマドと午後の車内ワークで、あらためてよくわかったしだい。
  　じゃあ、日々のラジオ聴取はどうしよう？　正直言って、ラジオも聴きすぎると、自分のような、ルーティンワークではない、創作ベースの仕事になると、その進捗具合にブレーキがかかることが、今回のことでわかりました。不在の間は録音を続けて、あとで、お気に入りの番組やコーナーをチェックすることにしようかな。そうでもしないと、やっていることがクリエイティブ・ワークなだけに、トークや音楽に気が散ってなかなかすすまないのでね。

  きょうは１月１２日木曜日。外が明るくなったので、カーテンをパッと引き開けたら、まあまあのお天気です。

  　ちなみに、前者は５回で正解。後者は６回で正解でした。どちらも、許容入力回数（それぞれ１０回と１２回）の半分でした。とりわけ、前者は前々回入力を失敗して８回までいってしまったので、今回は目標の５回以内が達成できて、なんとなくリベンジできたって感じです(^^v
  　ちなみに後者は、めずらしく難問の類(たぐい)でした。名詞／動詞／副詞／形容詞ではなかったので。でも、今回、独自の攻略法を作ったので、若干時間はかかるけれど、これからも、６回以内正解を続けてゆけると思っています（＾＾v
  　ところで、最近、眠っている途中でなんとなく頭が重くなって、起きたときにもスッキリしていない理由がわかりました。臭いでした。そう、例の所が最近いやに臭うなと思っていて、原因は不明だけど、ドアの隙間を完全に塞いで、寒いなか窓を開けて空気を入れ替えたら、ずいぶんと気分が軽くなりました。なので、酒粕ばかりが“悪者”ではなかったかもしれません。いずれにしても、消臭剤の残量が少なくなってきたので、補充しないといけませんです＾＾；

  　と思っている間に、お昼になっちゃった。今年も時間のたつの、早いね＾＾；
  　毎朝、起きて間もない頃にやっているふたつのワードゲーム「ことのはたんご」と「言葉で遊ぼう」。きょうも懲りずにやってたら、朝の貴重な時間がなくなってしまった＾＾；
  　ところでこのゲーム、前者はなかなかの難物です。でも、言葉を探索するときに、単語入力受付用辞書「ことのは辞書」はもちろん、正解単語抽出用辞書「たんご辞書」は絶対に開かないという「禁じ手」にしてます。
  　そしてそのうえで、脳内探索に行き詰まったら、“とあるネット辞書”（内緒^^;）を開いて検索することは許す、という自分独自のルール設定により、まあまあの成績で取り組めてます（＾＾）
  　いっぽう「言葉で遊ぼう」は、名詞に限らない４文字単語が対象だけど、黄色と緑以外のヒント表示が多いのが特徴。なので、その扱いに慣れると、かなり楽勝なゲームになりますね。
  　“とあるネット辞書”に頼ることも、ほとんどない情態。１回のチャレンジにつき最大１２回のトライ数のうち、最近はずっと前半６回以内で正解してます。
  　そのぶん、ヒントを駆使してあれこれ考えるし、対象文字が４文字と少ないこともあって、推理ゲームとしてのワクワク感を味わえますね。ただ、慣れてくるとちょっと易しい印象のゲームには、なりますね。
  　あと、「WORDLE ja」というのがあり、これは本家本元の「WORDLE」の日本語文字バージョンみたいなもののようだけど、一日に何度もできること。意味のない５文字を入れることができることが、上記の２ゲームとちがうところかな。１回のチャレンジ内のトライ回数も無制限のようですね。文字を全部埋め尽くすまでできるみたい（笑）
  　無意味な言葉も入れれるので、たとえば「●んしょう」を確定するときも、候補文字を５個並べて入れれるぶん、早期正解も目指せるところが、特徴の一つでもありますね。
  　このゲームは、難物の「ことのはたんご」専用の攻略法を編み出し、かつ、特別な攻略ツール（正解単語絞りこみシート）を作るにあたって、検証用として何度も使いこんできました。おかげで、ずいぶんと役に立ちました。いまでも、暇つぶしに何回かチャレンジしてます（＾＾）
  　なお、「ことのはたんご」用攻略法と攻略ツール「正解単語絞りこみシート」は、いずれ別ブログで公開するかもしれません。でも、どうだろ？　ヘタにしない方がいいかな＾＾？

  きょうは１月８日日曜日。今年初めてのサンデーですね。３連休の中日でもあります。

  　ところできのうは、久しぶりに、そう、数か月ぶりに聴いてみようと思ってスイッチを入れたとある器械。ハンディタイプの英会話練習機器ですが、なんと、音はすれども、感じの液晶表示がやばいことに。かすれてほとんど見えないんです。
  　え？　壊れたの？　買ってから１５年はたつからなあ。液晶がへたれてもおかしくはないけど、高額で買ったわりにはほとんど使っていないから、捨ててしまうのも惜しい。でも、音声が聞こえてもモニタが見えないことには、くり返しや対話モードなどの細かい捜査ができない。
  　うーん、こまったなあ。英語音声の英文テキストがないから、dictation（聴き書き）をして、音声はICレコーダーのLINE-INで保存するかな。そうしたら、対話モードは使えなくても、基本的なやりとりのパターンを把握することはできる。
  　１０の場面ごとに１０の模範会話が収められているので、都合１００個の短いトーク・セッションの音声を保存し、英文テキストに起こせばいいので、それほど大変な作業ではないな。ま、ぼちぼちやってゆこう、と思っていましたが、ふと、
  「いま冬だな。いつも暖房は入れてないし、ひょっとしたら、冷えているせいかもしれない…」と思って、暖冬で使っていなかったホッカイロをサクサク振って、厚手の布（未使用の雑巾^^）でくるんだその器械をあっためてみることにしました。
  　すると、案の定、液晶画面が復活したではありませんか！　この部屋がそんなに冷えているとは思えないけれど、ホッカイロで温めたら、液晶画面が見られるようになったのでした。うーん、捨てなくてよかった！
  　でも、経年劣化がこの不具合の背景にはあると思うので、モニタ画面を見られるいまのうちに、文字起こしと録音をすますことにしました。ちなみにこの英会話練習器は「チャティパロット」という製品ですが、ネットでサーチしたところ、Amazonで格安のお値段で売りらていますね。

  きょうは１月２日月曜日。ちょっと雲があるけれど、まあまあのお天気。

  　そういえば、きのう元日は、午後からちょっと離れた公園まで行って、高低差のある所をあちこち歩き回って、息を切らせて駐車場に戻ってきたら、駐車場から出ようとして停車したクルマの中から「ちょっとちょっと」と話しかけてきました。
  （なにかな？）と思ったら、「駐車場の利用時間jは午後５時までになっているが時間を過ぎている」と、どうやら自分は咎められているらしい。
  　そのときはじめて気づいた。駐車場にはいる誘導路の入り口に「利用時間は午後５時まで」と書いてあった立て看板を。
  　そうか、すっかり忘れていた。で、時計を見たら午後５時５分。５分の遅刻だった。残念。今年の元日は、人様から怒られることから始まった。
  　でも、去年の元日の愛車の縁石乗り上げと、レッカー車で元の位置にもどった大失態と１万１千円の痛い出費を考えると、今回はまだいいほうかもしれない。ただ、あの怒(おこ)り顔のオジサンには悪いことをしたな…。
  　あのオジサンのクルマが、後方から、“不埒者”がちゃんと走り去るまで監視していたけれど、助手席前の張り紙に気づいたので、出口横でいったんクルマを停めてこの紙片を外したあと、クルマに乗る前にペコンと頭を下げた。申し訳ないことをしたと思ったので。
  　あのオジサンは怒っているので、無反応かあるいは視線を横に逸らしたかもしれない。陽も傾いてやや暗くなりかけていたので、詳しい反応は分からなかった。
  　自分は、いつものように静かにクルマをスタートさせ、下り坂をゆっくりと降りていった。そして、クルマの中でこう思った。

  きょうは１月３日火曜日。きょうはすごくいいお天気だったし、４０数年来の旧知から賀状までもらったので、今朝早くに近くの郵便局まで行って、郵便ポストの「年賀状」口に投函しました。そしてそのあと、あまりにいいお天気なので、そのままクルマを走らせて、有料の海岸道路をドライブ。
  うーん、すごくきもちいい！　でもドライバーの皆さん、なんであんなに先を急ぐようにぶっ飛ばすんだろうね。７０キロ制限は自分にとってはちょうどいいスピード。今年は「疾走」する年だけど、クルマはとばさない。なぜなら、ダッシュボードのECOドライブ表示がそれを許さないから。あれを見てると、ほんと、低燃費で走りたい気分にさせられます。根がケチなので（笑）
