Scrivener3 〜 進化した“代書人”をチラッと横目で見ながら 〜

　以前から気になっていたScrivenerをググってみたら、Scrivener3になっていて、ずいぶんと進化しているようだ。縦書きもできるようで、ちょっと驚いた、というか、いきなり欲しくなった。

　で、適合バージョンを調べたら、MacOSXの場合10.11(El Captain)以上とのこと。相当前の旧バージョンに固執している者としては、問題外の外だった。予想どおりではあったけれど。これを使うためにバージョンアップするかなあ。

　むかしからScrivenerを注目していたのは、コルクボード画面に魅力を感じたからだった。プロットを練り、ストーリーラインをあれこれいじってみるときに、あのWYSIWYGな画面はじつにいいと直感した。でも当時はまだ縦書きなど望みようもなかったので、買い求めることはしなかった。

　今回は、コルクボード仕様（ファイルナビゲーション機能付き）は健在のまま、日本語縦書き入力ができることになったので、ソフトとしては「買い」の対象になった。

　でも、いま愛用している旧いシステム環境下で、自分専用として最適化させた制作システムで充分と言えば充分だし、Scrivener3に食指を伸ばしてOS環境をEl Captainに変えたら、いま構築している制作システムは、使えなくなるかもしれない。

　自分専用の制作システムは、ふたつのフリーソフトSeaMonkey(+Composer)とiText Expressの連携で成り立っている。そんななか、前者は最新バージョンの2.49.3がMacOSX10.9以上を要求している。となると、同10.11もカバーしている可能性が高いが、無問題かどうかは実際に動かしてみないとわからない。

　また後者は、最新バージョンの3.4.7が「MacOSX10.10.3にも対応している」とのことなので、同10.11もカバーしている可能性は高いが、これも不具合なく動くかどうかは実際に動かしてみないとわからない。

　ところで、ナビゲーション付きコルクボードにヒントを得た画面は、SeaMonkey(Composer）べースの２分割HTMLフレーム下の構成画面とtableタグ仕切りによる箱書スタイルとの連携で、ぎこちないけれど擬似的に作りだすことはできる。

　編集するときは、対象の画面上でCommand+Eのショートカットを打てばComposer画面が現われるので、WYSIWYGなワープロ感覚でスピーディに編集することができる（table操作も慣れれば簡単。とはいってもHTML構文のイロハのハ程度の知識は必要）。

　さてそういうことで、Scrivener(3)は、今後、愛用の旧バージョンが使えなくなったときにお世話になることになるだろう。

　そういえば、もう一つ気になっているDramaticaはどうなっているのだろう。日本への上陸はまったくなさげな気配のままなのかな。ということで、ググってみたら、こちらはそのままのよう。代書人なScrivenerとちがってガチなシナリオ制作に特化しているようなので、わざわざ日本に導入しても広く売りさばくことはむずかしい、と（日本側も）みているんだろうね。

      When I googled Scrivener that I had been interested in for a long time, it became Scrivener3 and seems to have evolved considerably. It became to do vertical writing, so I was a little surprised and wanted it right away.

      The reason I was paying attention to Scrivener for a long time was because I felt charm on the cork board screen. I knew that the WYSIWYG screen was actually nice when I knew the plot and fiddled with the storyline. But at that time I didn't want to buy vertical writing, so I didn't buy it.

      This time, as the cork board specification (with the file navigation function) was still alive, Japanese vertical writing could be entered, so the software was targeted for “buy”.

      However, in the old system environment that I currently use habitually, it is enough to say that the productive system optimized for my own use is enough, and if I extend my finger to Scrivener 3 and change the OS environment to El Captain, my own productive system may not be usable.

      My own productive system consists of two free software SeaMonkey (+ Composer) and iText Express. Under the circumstances, the former version 2.49.3 requires MacOSX10.9 or higher. Then, there is a high possibility that it covers the same 10.11, but if you do not have any trouble, you will not know.

      The latter is the latest version 3.4.7 is also compatible with MacOSX10.10.3, so there is a high possibility that it also covers 10.11, but whether it works without problems is actually I don't know unless I move it.

      By the way, the screen inspired by the cork board with navigation, that is awkward but it can be created due to the linkage between the screen based split HTML frame and the box-style with table tag dividers under the SeaMonkey (Composer) .

      When editing, if you hit Command + E shortcut on the target screen, the Composer screen will appear, so you can edit it quickly with a WYSIWYG word processor feeling (if you get used to table operation, it's easy. But the basic level of knowledge for HTML syntax is necessary). 
      So, Scrivener (3) will be indebted when the old version of the favorite is no longer available.

      Talking about that, what is going on with Dramatica, which I'm interested in? I wonder if the landing in Japan is completely insignificant. So when I googled, it looks same as before. Dramatica seems to be strictly specialized in creating scenarios, unlike Scrivener just like a "scrivener". So even if it is purposely introduced to Japan, also on Japanese import section, it seems difficult to sell it widely in Japan.
